The Washington County Career & Technical Education Center is proud to announce our teacher of the year, Mr. Billy Buchanan. Mr. Buchanan teaches because it gives him "the opportunity to stand in the gap for students who often feel lost, unsupported, or overwhelmed by challenges they face in life and in school." His classroom is a nontraditional one, and he credits his alternative teaching team for the success of the program. Students who enter his classroom know they can find academic help as well as social-emotional support from Mr. Buchanan. His expectations are big, and so is his heart for those with whom he works. Congratulations to Mr. Buchanan; we are so glad we work with you!
🔬 Criminal Justice students put their skills to the test by analyzing blood patterns to determine angle of impact, area of convergence, and area of impact. These techniques play a vital role in crime scene reconstruction, helping investigators piece together the movements of victims and suspects during critical moments. #CriminalJustice #ForensicScience #HandsOnLearning #wcctec

In what has been a tricky morning, we have decided to call a Remote Learning Day for Tuesday December 3, 2024. Main roads are clear, as are some back roads and side streets. However, “road checkers”, encountered multiple slick secondary roads. At our December School Board Meeting, we will present a Snow Route plan that would potentially allow us to have in person learning on days like today. Be safe, stay warm, and we’ll see everyone online
