We had an awesome visit from the Washington County Sheriff's Office and their incredible K9 Unit! Our students were very excited as we got to meet these talented four-legged officers and learn all about their important roles in keeping our community safe.
From demonstrations showcasing their impressive skills to engaging presentations about the K9 training process, it was an unforgettable learning experience for everyone involved.
We want to express our gratitude to the Washington County Sheriff's Office for taking the time to visit our school and share valuable insights about their K9 Unit. It's inspiring to witness the dedication and teamwork between these officers and their canine partners.
We are thrilled to announce that the Holston Soil and Water Conservation Office joined our school for an amazing morning of learning and discovery!
Kindergarten and first-grade students embarked on an adventure into the fascinating world of animal needs! 🐆🌳 A. Root from the Conservation Office visited our classrooms and taught us all about the different requirements that animals have to survive and thrive in their habitats. From food and water to shelter and protection, we explored it all! We became animal experts together!
Our other students dove into the wonders of our local watershed! 🏞️💧 Our special guest from the Holston Soil and Water Conservation Office guided us through an engaging activity that explored the importance of watersheds and how they impact our environment. We learned about the how pollution from our area ends up in our watershed. The students discussed ways to decrease this pollution and to help our area.
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to A. Root of the Holston Soil and Water Conservation Office for her dedication to educating our community about the environment and fostering a sense of responsibility towards nature.
Our young minds had a blast while gaining knowledge that will empower us to become stewards of our planet! 🌍 We're grateful for the incredible opportunity to learn about animal needs and watersheds, as it will leave a lasting impact on our understanding of the natural world.
PLANTING ACTIVITY: 🌱👩🌾
RVES Summer School students were able to get their hands dirty and unleash their inner gardener! The Farm Bureau Women's committee prepared an exciting planting activity where our students had the opportunity to sow their very own seeds and nurture them into thriving plants. The committee also provided an ice cream treat for the students to help celebrate National Dairy Month. We would like to thank them for this wonderful outreach program.

At 5:15 p.m. we will recognize Dr. Brian Ratliff, our retiring Superintendent. We look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday, June 6th.
