Automotive Repair & Automotive Technology

In the global automotive repair industry, there is a growing demand for qualified auto body technicians. During Auto Body Technology 1, students are taught non-structural analysis, damage repair, and welding. Students work with a variety of materials, using metal finishing and body filling techniques to prepare surfaces and repair panels. In addition, students practice shop safety and gain career skills. During Auto Body Technology 2, students are taught to repair, mask, and refinish auto body components and entire vehicles. In addition, they use spray guns and personal safety equipment while applying undercoats and topcoats, working with a variety of materials, and gaining career skills. Students who successfully complete this program sequence will be prepared to take and pass the respective ASE/NATEF exam and will be prepared for postsecondary education opportunities.
